An electrical installation will deteriorate with use over time so it is important that an installation is periodically inspected and tested to ensure it is safe to be in use. As outlined in
BS 7671: 2018 that every electrical installation is subjected to periodic inspection and test.
An EICR will need to be carried to determine if the installation is in a safe condition. Any Observations found whilst carrying out this test will be put into the following categories:
C1 - There is a danger present, risk of injury, and immediate remedial action required.
C2 - There is potential danger present and urgent remedial work is required.
C3 - Improvement is Recommended.
FI - Further Investigation is Required.
